Marnee Crawford's Mt. Rainier "Climb For Clean Air"
My mission is to reach the summit of Mt. Rainier on July 13, 2002 with my team from The Climb For Clean Air and the American Lung Association of Washington.
My goal is to raise at least $4000.00 for the American Lung Association of Washington. I can do it with your help!!
As of June 12th, I have raised approximately $2500.00!!! I am required to raise $1000.00 more by July 12th so that I can make the summit attempt with my team!!
The Clean Air climbers have raised a total of $280,000 so far this year for the American Lung Association!! We are so proud of the work we have done raising all this money and training so hard up at 10,000 feet most weekends!!
I have been training regularly for the past few months on Mt. Rainier. It is so beautiful and so challenging!! The people who have recently died on the mountain are testaments to its beckoning beauty and the fury of the elements upon a mountain.
Our May 25th Climb For Clean Air Bash at my house was a huge success!! I raised over $500.00 in donations and had a great time playing croquet, roasting marshmallows around the fire pit, and laughing with people about their costumes. HUGE THANKS goes to Crystal Meats at Pike Place Market for the fabulous freshly made, preservative free bratwurst! Delicious!! Silence Heart Nest Restaurant donated a wonderful rice dish that the carnivores as well as the vegetarians wolfed down. Thank you, Silence Heart Nest Vegetarian Restaurant in the University District (Home of the NeatLoaf!) Also, THANKS A MILLION TO Pyramid Brewery, Cougar Mountain Cookies, and Carrie Bayless for donating the beer, cookies and pasta salad!! Larissa Berry, Elizabeth Pliske and of course, Jenny Sugden were instrumental in making the party and the dinner a big success.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE!! YOUR SUPPORT IS SENDING ASTHMATIC KIDS TO SUMMER CAMP THIS YEAR AND HOPEFULLY FINDING A CURE FOR PULMONARY FIBROSIS IN THE COMING YEARS!!
(Not to mention helping teens to say no to smoking, helping to lobby for clean air in King County and funding research for lung cancer and asthma cures.... the ALAW does all that!!)
